Background

Kirsten Corin is an Associate Professor within the Centre for Minerals Research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. She has a BSc and BSc Honours in Pure and Applied Chemistry (UCT, 2001 and 2002) and a PhD in Physical Chemistry (UCT, 2006). She joined UCT as a Senior Scientific officer in 2008 after a year in the role of Special Products Specialist with Afrox Southern Region. Since 2008, she has been promoted 3 times and took up her current role in 2015. She is a National Research Foundation Y rated researcher.
